DiGiCo Helps Belarus National Television Upgrade to HD

2015 has seen The National State TV and Radio Company of the Republic of Belarus (Belteleradio) upgrade its Minsk studios to deliver High Definition output. As with the quality of the sound needed to match that of the visuals, a DiGiCo SD10 mixing console is now an integral part of the new system. As the country’s national broadcaster, Belteleradio has six national television channels and five radio channels. The upgrade project went out to public tender and was won by TVC, an experienced provider of broadcast design and integration services, which also has offices in Lithuania Belarus, Georgia, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine. “The brief was to deliver, install and commission a complete high-definition upgrade comprising the latest, state of the art HD equipment,” says Andrei Khmialeuski Head of TVC’s Minsk office. “DiGiCo was specified by Belteleradio in the tender document and we were easily able to integrate an SD10 into our solution, which delivered the best added value in its scope and budget.” The SD10 is used on programmes across Belteleradio’s TV channels, including news, current affairs, documentaries, culture, entertainment and sport. Once installed and commissioned, TVC provided training for the Belteleradio engineers on the new console. “They have found the SD10 very easy to work with,” says Andrei. “The versatility, ease of use and audio quality makes it an ideal solution for upgrading television studios to HD output with the minimum of problems. The SD10 is so intuitive that Beleteleradio staff were making programmes on the new system with the minimum of delay.”
